Waco 1993 - Never Forget
2/28/93 - 4/19/93
A story that is too important to let it be forgotten. The Timeline
This counter will help you understand how long the siege actually was. If this were 1993, then right now it would be
Now available: Waco Package #1 - a CD containing songs by David Koresh, the original "Voice of Fire" compilation, the complete text of the DoJ government reports, and the completed portions of the manuscript David Koresh was writing, with commentary from Biblical scholars Drs. James Tabor and Phillip Arnold. This is at least a $50 - $80 value to purchase these materials from other collectors on the internet - and hard to find, to boot. I can offer them free of charge (donations are appreciated). Message me for details.
These are the people who lived - and died - at Mt. Carmel Center in Waco, Texas in 1993. Regardless of who you think was right or wrong - the price was paid in human lives. Was it worth it?

Here you can see and hear the Branch Davidians inside Mt. Carmel Center during the siege tell their story in their own words. The video quality is poor, but the message is clear. Ask yourself why you were not allowed to see this tape before. Ask your representatives why the negotiators requested these tapes be made, and then refused to release them for years.

Why is this blog being time-stamped every day? The 1993 siege lasted 51 days. This post is a memorial to and reminder of that time-frame. It will be updated daily to keep it at the top of my blog and new information may be added as time goes by.
Nothing can bring them back, or undo what has been done. Only by remembering this tragedy and learning from the mistakes of it, can similar disasters be prevented in the future. Violence and hatred are never the answer.

You are right....there are two sides to every story and I shamefully admit I only know one side...I'll check out your sites to get better informed. Thanks for this blog.
Right, you have a point, but what of it? So maybe the government made mistakes, what do you want? All I see is a site trying to convince the world how bad the government is. Everyone knows the government has problems. What changes do you want to see? Like Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." If you don't have an idea of what you want to accomplish, how will you inspire other people to help you?
@phantomFive - What I want is for people to remember this tragedy, so that it will not be repeated.
oh, crud. I canNOT for the life of me figure out how to shut your music off so that I can hear the video.
@radicalramblings - It's not enough. There have been wars throughout history, with widespread misery, but people remembering it has not been enough. How would you change the world, or the government, so something like this wouldn't happen again?
Absolutely do not stop posting reminders about Waco. Those who are ignorant of history are destined to repeat it. I have brought up the lies of 9-11 several times, and I will continue. People need to be awake, and your first response shows that not everyone has heard of Waco.
@homefire - The music is in the slide show. You can use the little music symbol in that to shut it off, or just click on the videos to open them in a new screen (recommended, so you can see them better).
@phantomFive - The way we fight wars has changed. We have at least a pretense of an agreement, not to bomb hospitals and such. And to treat prisoners of war according to international standards. It's far from perfect and there are violations, but it's better than the days of "anything goes." How did we get to that point? By remembering past mistakes, and learning from them as we move forward. There are a million issues that one could chose to care about, and stand up and fight for. This is mine, because it is deep and personal. I do not advocate hatred - I advocate education.
I know both side and have for a while. Some things are not pleasant to know and that explain why so few want to know this. Thanks for keeping this story alive
Thanks for your comments on my post a ReveLife. It's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling convicted about that.
Good for you for spreading awareness about Waco, too. Don't listen to the people saying you can't post about something more than once a month. If it matters to you, you should talk about it.
ok, do your best.
That entire thing was messed up from the start.
Wow, this is sad. I had no idea about it, yay for learning.
Wow. I had no idea.
Yes it's a tragedy.
But to compare it to the Holocaust is a little much.@gratefulxgrapefruit - Hmm, let's see, is it really? In both cases, the victims were targeted by their government because of a misunderstood faith, and killed by gassing and incineration. In both cases, men and women, adults and children, were treated with equal brutality. In both cases, victims were declared guilty of unspecified crimes without benefit of a trial or jury. And most chillingly, in both cases, there are those who seek to pretend it didn't happen, or wasn't as bad as it really was.
@radicalramblings - Hmm, yes it is. In the case of the Holocaust, the victims endured years under Hitler's reign, not to mention countless centuries of discrimination. The Jews have been the world's scapegoat since Jesus. In the case of the Holocaust, Jews couldn't just co-mingle in society. They weren't staying on a settlement by choice. They had visible signs indicating they were Jewish, and the general populace detested them. In the case of the Holocaust, upwards of 6 million Jews were killed. In the case of the Holocaust, it wasn't just some tear gas and carbon monoxide. Not to mention they were cremated upon death to make room for more murder.
Both are tragedies. One is more severe.
@gratefulxgrapefruit - I agree~! these folks had a choice to walk out.
I may have missed it, but I didn't see any pictures of the four BATF agents who were murdered. Shouldn't they be remembered too?
I thought that was a horrible tragedy too. I don't know all the facts behind what happened there inside the compound, but I know that all those people did not deserve to die.
@Laserous - Deleted your comment as per your request.
@gratefulxgrapefruit - And one got that way, because no one stood up and screamed about it until it was too late. Hitler didn't wake up one day and kill 6 million people. As you noted, it was a tragedy that took years to play out. Many times along the way, atrocities that could have served as a warning and a wake-up call were swept under the rug. History tells us the result of doing so.
@thereluctantsinger - Try clicking on the links. They're there.
@radicalramblings - I remember with you and will do what I can to prevent this from happening again. I was afraid that the San Augustine event over a year ago was going to end up like this. May the Constitution be preserved and may our freedoms be protected in the U.S. of A.
