Would you rather be dumb and beautiful or extremely intelligent and average looking? Why? Intelligent and average-looking. It's hard to make money by being beautiful - unless you enjoy sexual advances from strange, dirty old men. Besides, beauty can be lost. Knowledge is something no one can take from you.

What would you do if you were stuck on dial-up?I was stuck on dial-up for a long time, and it sucks. I would *not* be on Xanga very much, because towards the end of my dial-up days is when Xanga started introducing all of the new, cute, SLOW AS HECK TO LOAD features and they've added a lot more sense then. So I doubt the site is very accessible at all to those poor folks who are still stuck on dial-up. Especially if they're paying by the minute for long distance charges, like I was for many years.

I come surprisingly close to agreeing with all your choices - except the ice cream (I'm a butter pecan man).
If I had to listen to a politician think all day, I would pick Obama - I think some of his thought processes would be fascinating - he does such a good job of projecting a "public" persona that I think looking behind the curtain would be very illuminating. I'm pretty sure I could predict Bush's thoughts in just about any situation.
You are dead on as far as beautiful vs intelligent goes - but surprisingly enough, the two seem to go together, at least that's what psychologists have found. Intelligent people tend to be more attractive to others from childhood on according to numerous studies.
I used to have to use dialup all summer - from the Maine woods - and running a website from there was somewhat frustrating - That's why I keep Socrates_Cafe plain vanilla - in case some of the few leftover contributors are still using dialup. A couple of years ago I added a satellite wireless hookup but that was as bad as dialup and fearfully expensive.Last summer I got a Verizon 3G plug for my laptop - It is amazing - even out in the woods - as long as you don't have a mountain between you and the sat tower.
