Brazos Bend State Park
I made an impromptu trip down to Brazos Bend State Park today.
The scenery was great...
We saw a lot of animals - in the wild, and otherwise...
It was very educational...
And just before we left, we even saw a real live alligator in the wild!

Only one alligator? I went to Brazos Bend in 2006, I stopped counting after thirty alligators. None the less, Brazos Bend, Lake Sommerville, and Possum Kingdom are probably my favorite state parks.
@Dargon - We didn't really plan on being there, so we were in flip-flops, carrying purses, with no bug spray. We stuck to the main short trails, but plan to go back and do more of the longer routes & will hopefully see more gators there.
@radicalramblings - I'd recommend it. Like I said, it's one of my favorite parks. Aside from the alligators, there's some pretty good birds there.
@Dargon - We saw a lot of the birds. It's pretty close so I'm definitely going back
