  • How To Create Links

Have you ever wondered how to create links on Xanga?  This page is for you.

    External Links

Let's say you want to create a link to the Disney website.  You find out that the link is http://www.disney.com.
    1. Log into Xanga
    2. Go to the Post New Weblog screen
    3. Type http://www.disney.com in the editor box
    4. Submit your post - Xanga will automatically create hyperlinks if you type out the address in posts.
Now let's say you don't want to have the whole address show up in your post.  You want your readers to be able to click on the word Disney.Com in your post.
    1. Log into Xanga
    2. Go to the Post New Weblog screen
    3. Type Disney.Com in the editor box
    4. Highlight Disney.Com with your mouse cursor
    5. Click the hyperlink button at the top of your editor box
    6. Type http://www.disney.com in the box that pops up
    7. Click okay
    8. Submit your post - the hyperlink has been created.
But what if you can't use the hyperlink button (because your browser doesn't support it, or some other reason)?
    1. Log into Xanga
    2. Go to the Post New Weblog screen
    3. Click the "edit html" button at the top of the box
    4. Type the following in the html screen:
    5. Submit your post - The link has been created.
The code above is the same code you would use to leave the Disney.Com link in a comment

    Site Specific Links

Now that you know how to make links you are probably wondering how to link to specific posts on Xanga.  That's the easy part.
    1. Go to the site you want to link to.
    2. Go to the comments page of the post you want to link to.
    3. Make sure you are on the page where you can only see that post, and the comments for it.
    4. Copy the address in the  bar at the top of the screen.
    5. That is the address of the post
    6. You can use the linking instructions above to share the link with your friends
